Abstract. 

If the orbits of close binary stars are circular, and the light speed is NOT influenced by the speed of the stars, we have to expect that the light curves are symmetrical between moments of eclipse or even conjunction. However, This is mostly not the case and still an ongoing debate in astronomy and called the “O ‘Connell effect”.
